Our Story

Long before The Cajun Frog was a bottle on your spice rack, it was a little girl splitting her childhood between two worlds—Southern California with her mom, and the bayous of Louisiana with her dad.
In California, life looked like most people’s summer vacation. But every trip back to Louisiana meant wading through the mud behind her dad, flashlight in hand, learning how to gig frogs before she could even ride a bike. Frogging and fishing with her dad wasn’t just a visit—it was a way of life she looked forward to all year. Late nights on the water, the thrill of the catch, and always coming home proud, muddy, and a little smelly. That scrappy, hands-on spirit followed her back to California every time, and it never really left her.
Her husband grew up a little differently—but cut from the same cloth. He was always the guy in the woods, on the water, chasing whatever the season called for, more at home outdoors than in. So when he found his way into Cajun culture, it wasn’t some passing phase—it clicked instantly. The hunting, the fishing, the cooking what you catch, the way food and family and the outdoors all tie together—it was like he’d been Cajun his whole life and just didn’t know it yet.

The scrappy, hands-on spirit of the bayou is where it all began. Wading through mud, learning the art of the catch, and the deep-rooted tradition of Cajun cooking—these aren't just memories, they are the foundation of every spice blend we create. From the mud of Louisiana to the peaks of the mountains, the adventure continues.

Together, they share a passion that goes far beyond the bayou. Whether they’re knee-deep in a Louisiana marsh gigging frogs, fly fishing a mountain river at high elevation, hiking a trail, or foraging for whatever the season offers—outdoors is home, and cooking what they bring back is the reward. From bayou to mountain peak, their love of the hunt, the catch, and the meal that follows is what ties it all together.

That’s what The Cajun Frog really is—not just a Louisiana story, but an adventure story shaped by two different coasts and one shared way of life. She brings the roots. He brings the fire. Together, they bring the flavor, wherever the adventure takes them.
